The Bohol Renewable Energy Board convened its 2nd Quarter Meeting on April 28, 2026, at the Pres. CPG Hall of the New Capitol Building in Tagbilaran City, gathering key stakeholders and partners to advance the province’s renewable energy agenda and sustainable development initiatives. Among the active members of the Board is Bohol Association of Non-Government Organizations (BANGON), which continues to contribute to collaborative efforts in promoting clean, resilient, and community-centered energy development in the province.

A major highlight of the meeting was the presentation of the approved Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of Provincial Ordinance No. 2023-018, a significant policy framework that strengthens the province’s commitment to renewable energy development and energy security. The Board also discussed the approved Executive Order No. 16, which establishes the Investment Framework and its corresponding Technical Working Group (TWG), aimed at streamlining renewable energy investments and fostering stronger institutional coordination.
Another key agenda item was the presentation of the outputs from the Stakeholders Consultation and Validation Workshop for Project Bohol Renewable Energy Assessment and Mapping (BREAM). Dr. Dave J. Pojadas, Dean of the College of Engineering, Architecture and Industrial Design of Bohol Island State University, presented the project’s progress, emphasizing that Project BREAM has produced an updated and validated renewable energy reference map developed through extensive consultations with stakeholders and professionals. The initiative is expected to serve as a vital tool in identifying renewable energy opportunities and guiding evidence-based planning across the province.

Updates on Project ASPIRE (Advancing Sustainable Provincial Investments for Renewable Energy) were likewise presented by Engr. Jerrey David Aguilar, Project Manager of Bohol Association of Non-Government Organizations (BANGON). The presentation highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen renewable energy leadership, collaboration, and capacity-building among local stakeholders in support of Bohol’s long-term sustainability goals.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of government agencies, academic institutions, civil society organizations, and development partners to build a resilient and sustainable energy future for Bohol. With strengthened policy mechanisms, collaborative planning, and science-based mapping initiatives now taking shape, the province continues to position itself as a leading champion of renewable energy development in the region.
